This band from England was called The Charlatans UK in the U.S. because there was already a band with that name there. This is album number 6 from 1999. I have their second record. This CD has a Stones, Byrds Roots Rock sound. “A House Is Not a Home” steals the guitar riff from “I Don’t Believe You(She Acts Like We Never Met)” by Bob Dylan and The Band. First time listening to this one. I thought “The Blonde Waltz” was a good song. “My Beautiful Friend” is an ode to band member Rob Collins who was killed in an auto accident in ’98. This CD sounds pretty good.
