I’ve been going through my CDs grouped by genre to see what might fit in alphabetically with the 300 I already have in order. This is a great Progressive CD that I’m sure I have never played before. I bought around 150 Progressive and or Psychedelic CDs in the 00’s mostly at the store in Ephrata. Most were from the late 60’s to early 70’s. Most were sold in 2013. This is one that wasn’t along with about 50 others. Still has the $14.99 price sticker on it. Anglagard is from Sweden and this is their first release from 1992. This sounds great and sounds like every Prog band from the early 70’s which is what they wanted to do as it says in the liner notes which are in English, vocals and lyrics printed in the booklet are Swedish. Four tracks from 8 to 13 minutes long mostly instrumental, there is plenty of flute and mellotron with some Robert Fripp style guitar. There is one bonus track on this 2000 reissue on the Swedish label Mellotronen. Put out one more album before breaking up in 1994, reuniting in 2012 for one more. Many new Progressive bands formed in the 90’s and later, some just Ok but these guys, and girl can really play.
