Z Z Top-Tres Hombres

Original

One I bought in 1973 after hearing some of the songs on the radio. A great record and one of my favorites of all time. “Waitin’ For The Bus” segues right into “Jesus Just Left Chicago”. “Beer Drinkers & Hellraisers” is another great rocker. “Master Of Sparks” has a Heavy Metal sound and is the true story of Billy Gibbons and a friend inside a round steel cage pulled by a pick-up truck. Hot, Blue And Righteous” is a mellow Blues. “Move Me On Down The Line” another great rocker, short and to the point, “Precious And Grace” is about two prostitutes while “La Grange” is about the Chicken Ranch brothel. That was released as a single and just missed The Top 40. “Shiek” was one of my favorites from the beginning because of the guitar solo the longest on the record. “Have Youn Heard?” is another mellow track. Although the gatefold cover with the picture of the Mexican feast on the inside is in bad shape the record sounds great. Not much surface noise and no skips. The music is loud and clear. Both record labels are for side two. Since all tracks are roughly the same length it’s hard to tell which is side one. I’ve since written a small 1 on the correct side. Back in the day I would hand the record to someone and ask them to put on side one.
