Z Z Top-Rio Grande Mud

The second album from this Texas Blues Rock trio. This 1972 release is a used one I bought a long time ago probably in the late 80’s when I moved back to Delaware. The cover is in bad shape, almost split in two but the record sounds fine. “Francine” was issued as a single with the B-side the song sung in Spanish. “Just Got Paid” is another good one. Joe Bonamassa does a great cover of that song on one of his live albums. “Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell” is a long slow Blues. “Whiskey’n Mama” and “Chevrolet” are also good. Great guitar playing by Billy Gibbons with the rhythm section of Dusty Hil and Frank Beard. At this point Billy had a short beard, Dusty was clean shaven.
