Original

Bob Welch was the guitarist for Fleetwood Mac from ’71 to ’74 and recorded five albums with them. Along with Christine McVie he was also their singer and writer. This is first solo album after leaving the band and after a couple albums with his group Paris. This in one I bought new in 1977. The first song “Sentimental Lady” is a song he wrote when in Fleetwood Mac with Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, and Lindsey Buckingham playing and adding vocals to this new recording. The rest of the songs are Rock with a couple with a Disco beat with some strings. The music might be called Yacht Rock today , a term that was not around in the 70’s. “Ebony Eyes” was a pretty successful single, the most Rocking cut on the album. “Lose My Heart/Lose Your Heart is a short song done in three different styles. This turned out to be his best selling record. In April of 2012 Welch underwent spinal surgery leaving him in great pain. In June of that year he committed suicide by shooting himself. He was 66.
