Joe Walsh-So What

Original

His third solo record. This was released in late 1974 with Barnstorm members Joe Vitale and Kenny Passarelli but also adding Eagles Don Henley, Glen Frey and Randy Meisner on four tracks. This is one I bought new , probably in early 1975. Another great record, probably his best and another one that was played many times in the apartments I lived in after moving out of my parent’s house in the summer of 1978. “Welcome To The Club”, “Time Out”, “Country Fair” and “Turn To Stone”, a reworking of a song from his first record, are all classics with great guitar work in each. “Falling Down” a more mellow song has background vocals by Henley with all three Eagles singing on “Turn To Stone” and “Help Me Through The Night”. “All Night Laundry Mat Blues” a short song at the end of side one is a song all my fellow apartment dwellers could relate to. “Pavane” is a classical piece by Ravel with Joe soloing on ARP and Moog synthesizers. “Song For Emma” is for his three year old daughter who was killed in an auto accident earlier in 1974. It features what sounds like a full orchestra but is uncredited. The record sounds well played with many visible scratches on it but no skips. The cover is in fair condition.
