Jerry Jeff Walker-Viva Terlingua

This is a good record of Country/Outlaw Country/TexMex and Folk recorded live in Luckenbach Texas. There was no audience for most of the tracks. Walker is backed by his Lost Gonzo Band. Most are originals but there are some covers like “Desperados Waiting For A Train” and “Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother”. “Sangria Wine” a Walker original is another good song and one I had heard before buying the record about twenty years ago. “London Homesick Blues” one written by Gonzo Band member Gary Nunn has a great chorus repeated over and over again at the end of the song. That song and “Redneck Mother” are the only songs with an audience. This was released in 1973 and this looks to be an original pressing. Jerry Jeff Walker was in a band called Circus Maximus in the 60’s with a great song “The Wind” on it that I used to have. His first solo album came out in 1968 with his often covered “Mr. Bojangles” on it. Another song on that record “The Ballad Of The Hulk” is one I taped off the radio back in the 80’s that I really liked. It was years before I knew who sang it.
