The Veldt are a band from North Carolina formed by brothers Danny and Daniel Chavis. Called a Shoegaze band, there is a lot of that style in their music but also a good dose of Soul. I bought their 1994 release Afrodisiac on cassette. One of those bands I knew nothing about but bought it because it looked interesting. After listening to it a couple of times I really liked it. Four or five songs from that recording are on my playlist. All my cassettes were sold in 2013 and I have not been able to find a vinyl copy of that or anything else by the band. A few years ago I found this EP at the store in Ephrata. It was a 2017 Record Store Day leftover. Five songs sounding a bit more mellow than Afrodisiac with a little more of an Electronica sound. I’ve played this a couple times and like it. Always looking for anything by this band.
