Uncle Tupelo were a band from Illinois formed by Jeff Tweedy and Jay Farrar. They had previously been in a Punk band together. Uncle Tupelo has been called one of the founders of the Alt-Country genre. This is their second album from 1992. I had their first and last releases on cassette. A 2012 reissue I bought this sometime after that. Their four albums were reissued then. This is a good record with some songs showing their Punk roots like “Gun”, “Nothing” and “D.Boon” a song about Dave Boon of The Minutemen who was killed in a car crash in 1985 at the age of 27. They are joined by Gary Louris from the similar sounding Jayhawks playing electric guitar on a few tracks. First time listening to this record. It sounds pretty good.
