This is his seventh album and it came out in 1980. I bought this new at some point but sold it. This is a used one bought in the last ten years. This would be the last album with the classic line up of Trower Bill Lordan and James Dewar. His next two records would be with Jack Bruce taking over bass and vocals. Of the five Trower records I have this is my least favorite. There are some good songs on here but they are shorter (nothing over four minutes). Not much of the extended jamming found on his earlier records, the solos are short and economical. Favorites on this one are the title track, “The Ring” “The Shout” and “Fly Low” a mellow song reminiscent of “Bluebird”. The record is very dirty and does not sound too good. May be headed for the reject pile.
