Thin White Rope-The Ruby Sea

Thin White Rope was a band from the California desert. The name comes from William S. Burroughs novel Naked Lunch, as does Steely Dan’s. This features the twin guitars of Guy Kyser and Roger Kunkel. Considered part of the Paisley Underground genre they also have a bit of Country and Western in their sound. I had Cassettes of a live recording and their In A Spanish Cave releases. This is their last album from 1991 found at Vinyl Closet the store near Oaks. “Bartenders Rag” and appropriate for the season, “Christmas Song” show their Country leanings. “Tina And Glen” and “Hunters Moon” were on their live recording. “Midwest Flower” and “The Fish Song” show a harder almost Stoner Rock sound. The cover and record are in good shape.
