Thin Lizzy-Johnny The Fox

In early 1977 I was at a party at a co-workers house looking through his record collection, he was one of a few people I knew who had a bigger collection than me at that time, and found this one which was their newest release. I put on side two. That’s about I remember. Never heard or saw the record again until about 2015 when the store in West Reading had a used like new copy that I bought. By this time Eric Bell was replaced by two guitarists, Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. A good record but not as good as Jailbreak that was released 7 months earlier. I had that record at one time as well as three other studio records and two live albums but sold them all except for Bad Reputation which was my favorite. “Fools Gold” is about the Irish potato famine, one of many of their songs dealing with Irish history. The best songs on this record are “Johnny”, “Johnny The Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed”, “Don’t Believe A Word” and “Massacre”.
