Tangerine Dream-Ricochet

Original

This is one I bought in 1975 the year of its release. This was an English import I picked up at Village Records at the Tri State Mall in Delaware. They always had a bin of imported records there and although they were a little more expensive, I bought a few of them over the years. It has a round sticker on the back that says imported by Phillips International. The first live album by the band, it features the classic line-up of Edgar Froese, Peter Baumann and Chris Franke who were together through most of the 70’s. The music was recorded at a show in London and mixed with some improvisations in a studio. The result is an amazing work of Progressive music. The music is more rhythm oriented and structured than their earlier synthesizer soundscapes. The work is simply titled Ricochet Part 1 and part 2. Part 1 is a little more aggressive with some electric guitar and what sounds like some acoustic drums as well as electronic. Part 2 is a little more relaxed with some strange industrial sounds at the end. A great Electronic/Krautrock/Progressive record that I played a lot. The cover is in fair shape the record is pretty scratchy sounding but no skips or other problems.
