Another one of my earlier record purchases with my paper route money. Probably bought in ’73 or ’74. My friend’s older brother had Electric Warrior which we played a couple of times but was not a favorite. I always liked most of the songs on this record. Produced by Tony Visconte with Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan(Flo and Eddie) on background vocals. “Metal Guru”, “Rock On”, “Telegram Sam”, and “Buick Mackane” are great examples of Marc Bolan’s Boogie Glam Rock. Simple with repetitive riffs yet all catchy. “Spaceball Ricochet” and “Main Man” with acoustic guitar harken back to his earlier Hippie Folk style. I sold my original copy some time ago. This is a 2010 reissue on Fat Possum Records.
