The Stone Roses were a short lived band from Manchester England. One of the early groups of the so called Madchester Scene they put out two records, the debut in 1989 and another coming in 1994. They play a mix of retro-Psychedelic, Dance, and Alternative music. I had their first self titled release on cassette but I don’t ever remember playing it. This great two record compilation has six tracks from their first, four from their second and five singles. This is a 2016 reissue originally on CD in 2002. I bought this new about three years ago. First time listening to it and it would be hard to say which song I liked best because they were all very good. Some of the longer ones like “Fools Gold”, “Breaking Into Heaven”, and “I Am The Resurrection” have some nice guitar driven fadeouts. They reunited in 2012 for some tours and recorded a few singles but disbanded for good in 2017.
