Steeleye Span-Parcel Of Rogues

Another record of traditional Folk songs, their fifth, which was released in 1973. One I used to own at some point, must have sold it. This is one I bought for a dollar about five years ago. It’s in pretty bad shape. More good songs on this one. “Allison Gross” about a witch is their most Rock song at was heard on the radio. “Parce Of Rogues” is a poem by Robert Burns written in the 1700’s sung in a dirge-like four -part harmony accompanied by a simple drumbeat. “The Weaver And The Factory Maid” is another one of my favorites sung by Maddy Prior with only Peter Knight’s violin to back her. “Cam Ye O’er Frae France” is another one I like. Another one destined for the trash.
