Split Enz-True Colours

They are a band from New Zeeland. Formed in the mid 70’s their earlier records were more Progressive but when this their sixth release in 1980 they were playing a more New Wave sound. The album was released with 11 different color combinations. This used copy I bought on A&M Records is laser etched with shapes like on the cover and the band’s name. Light reflects off them making rainbow-like colors. This was the first record to use this technique and the only record I have with something like that. The first song “I Got You” is their only well- known song in the U.S. The others are typical New Wave or Power Pop songs. Besides “I Got You” the only other song I thought was good was “How Can I Resist Her”.
