Seatrain-Seatrain

Seatrain is a band from the San Francisco area. This is their second album from 1970 produced by George Martin at AIR studios in London. This is a used re-issue I bought about 30 or 40 years ago. They play a blend of Rock,Country,Folk, and Bluegrass, the main instrument beinbg Richard Green’s violin and fiddle. I always liked side one with two songs I heard on FM radio back in the early 70’s,”Song Of Job”,a song right out of the Bible, and “Out Where The Hills”.The first song on the side is “Willin'” the Little Feat song titled here as “I’m Willin'” released before Little Feats version in 1971. “Broken Morning” and “Home To You” are also good. Side two has “13 Questions” a minor Top 40 hit I remember hearing on Wilmington’s AM station WAMS,two traditional Bluegrass/Country songs “Sally Goodin'” and”Orange Blossom Special” as well as a Goffin/King song “Creepin’ Midnight” credited as King/Goffin on this record. The record is pretty scratchy sounding but no skips.
