Screaming Trees were a Seatle area band formed by the Conner brothers Gary Lee and Van,singer Mark Lanegan and drummer Mark Pickerel.Formed about the same time as other Seattle based bands like The Melvins,Soundgarden,Green River, and Skinyard. This is a collection of songs from an EP and three full length albums on the SST label. The music has some Grunge elements as well as Punk,Garage ,and Psychedelic. I originally had this on cassette in the 90’s, I bought this vinyl edition about three years ago. The best songsare “Barriers”,”Transfiguration”,”Cold Rain”,”Invisible Lantern”,and Flower Web”. Both Van Conner and Mark Lanegan died in the last 14 months,both in their 50’s.
