Scorpions-Lonesome Crow/Action

This is their first album released in early 1972 in Germany and a year later in the U.S. This is a 1980 German re-issue on the Brain label. It has a different title and cover than the original release. Both Michael and Rudolf Schenker play guitar on this record. Klaus Meine is the vocalist. The bass and drum players were replaced for the next album. Michael Schenker left after this album to join U.F.O. The music on this record has a more Psychedelic/Krautrock sound than their later more Hard Rock Style. “I’m Going Mad” and “Leave Me” definetely sound like something from the late 60’s while “Lonesome Crow” is a 13 minute guitar extravaganza with Michael and Rudolf trading licks. I like the whole album and may be my favorite by the band. I found this at the store in Mohnton. It had no price tag on it. I asked the owner how much,he looked at it and said four dollars. I said sounds good. They have three or four other Scorpions records there including Fly To The Rainbow, their second, that I used to own. I may pick it up. It’s been there a couple of years.
