The Rolling Stones-Their Satanic Majesties Request

One of the oddest Rolling Stones records, released in late ’67, this is their answer to The Beatles Sjt. Peppers album. Very psychedelic with lots of exotic instruments and ryhthms it did not sell very well. “Citadel” is the best song on side one. The last track on the side “Sing This All Together(See What Hapens)” is a reprise of the first song and is a seven and a half minute instrumental with many sound effects and mellotron,Jew’s harp and flute played by Brian Jones. Side two is probably the better sinde with the two best songs on the album,”She’s A Rainbow” and “2000 Light Years From Home”. “TheLantern” is a more acoustic song and the last song “On With The Show” seems to be a parody of The Beatles. Two other songs were recorded at this time, “Dandelion” and “We Love You” releaed as a single but did not appear on the record. Thisis a used record I bought at Double Decker Records in Allentown in 2017 ,the only time I went there. It has a $3 price tag and appears to be a 1976 reissue without the 3D lenticular photo that was on the original pressings.
