Renaissance-Live At Carnegie Hall

A double live album with gatefold cover recorded June of 1975. The first record has five songs from their first three records “Prolouge”,”Can You Understand”,”Mother Russia”,”Carpet Of The Sun”,and “Running Hard” as well as “Ocean Gypsy” from their forthcomming album Scheherazade”. All sound very good with great playing from the band and Annie Haslam’s voice sounding as amazing as ever. The second record has two songs,a 29 minute “Scheherazade” with The New York Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir adding some nice touches and 24 minutes of “Ashes Are Burning”. That song includes a long bass solo by Jon Camp sounding a lot like Chris Squire’s solo on “Fish” from their live album. John Tout’s organ replaces the guitar on the instrumental fade out after the last verse. A used one I bought at the West Reading record store about ten years ago. Doesn’t sound too bad.
