R.E.M.-Dead Letter Office

This 1988 release is kind of a compainion to yesterdays album Eponymous also released in 1988. This is a collection of B-Sides,mostlt outakes from ’81 to’86. Peter Buck wrote liner notes commenting on each song, saying ,overall listening to the record should be like looking through a junkyard. There are covers, three by The Velvet Underground,”Toys In The Attic” by Aerosmith and “Crazy” a song by fellow Athens band Pylon. The even play a drunken version of “King Of he Road”. “Voice Of Harold” is the music of “7 Chineese Brothers” with Michael Stipe singing the liner notes of a Gospell alum. Originaly bought in 1988, it was sold. This is a 2016 re-issue. I always liked this record for its diverse content.
