I had four or five of their releases on cassette, of which Sailing The Seas Of Cheese was my favorite, but not this one, which is their first.Recorded in 1989 in Berkeley all the songs would later appear in studio versions on later albums. With Les Claypool’s up front bass and odd singing and Larry LaLonde’s unconventional guitar they have a kind of Alternative Metal/Avant Garde sound. Nothing sounds quite like Primus. This is a 2020 re-issue on blue transparent vinyl. It comes with a pair of 3D glasses for viewing the cover.
