This is a band from Alaska, but based in Portland. It’s their seventh release and on e I bought in 2013 having never heard of them. Played side one a couple of times while living in Mohnton. Nothing really stood out to me. Side two is a little better, I thought “Holy Roller(Halleujah)” was pretty good. Their music reminded me of My Morning Jacket or Foster The People. Comes with an insert with one side of more artwork by leader John Baldwin Gourley, who does the artwork for all their albums, with liner notes and lyrics on the other side. Gourley sings in a high pitched voice that sounds like a woman singing to me. The record was produced by Danger Mouse who gets a writing credit on all 12 songs along with the band as a whole. Another OK record to put on more in the future.
