Porcupine Tree-Nil Recurring

Porcupine Tree are an English Progressive band formed in the early 90’s by Steven Wilson. I bought a two CD compilation called Stars Die about 25 years ago and most of their work has been re-issued on vinyl in the last three or four years. Nil Recurring is an EP from 2007 and consists of four tracks recorded at the same time as their Fear Of A Blank Planet album. Besides Wilson the band includes Richard Barbieri who had been in the band Japan in the 80’s and bass player Colin Edwin. Drummer Gavin Harrison is the second person to have that position. The title track is an instrumental with Robert Fripp playing some guitar, followed by “Normal” with a catch chorus similar to the one in “Sentimental” from the Fear Of A Blank Planet album. First time listening to the two songs on side two. “What Happens Now?” feature some electric violin. The album is on clear vinyl.
