This is the second record in the Cantalope Island re-issue.A live album recorded in 1969 at a club in Hollywood called Thee Experience. With The George Duke trio backing him up this is an early Jazz Fusion record. First time listening to this I think the best was “Foosh” a George Duke composition. I also liked “Pamukkale” a more mellow piece. They also cover “Cantalope Island” the Herbie Hancock composition. I’m so used to hearing a saxaphone in these Jazz combos that Ponty’s violin sounds like a sax to me. The recording is pretty good ,considering it was made in 1969 and the record itself isin like new condition.
