The Alan Parsons Project-I Robot

Original

This is the second album from The Project from 1977. Another record that was played many times when living in two aartments between ’78-’79 in Claymont De. with three and sometimes four other people. The album is based on Issac Asimov’s Robot Stories although the songs are very general.Using members of the band Pilot this time with vocals by Allan Clarke and Steve Harley. There are four instrumentals on the album, the six minute title track sounding a bit like Pink Floyd,an orchestral piece called “Total Ecxlipse” ,”Nucleus” and the final track called “Genesis I V. 32”.Three songs from the album got some airplay “I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You”.”Breakdown”, and “The Voice” all good songs. “Day After Day” is a ballad sounding like some of their later hits like “Time”. “Don’t Let It Show” was covered by Pat Benatar on her first record. The gatefold cover has lyrics o the inside. Pretty scratchy sounding with a couple of skips.
