The second proper album from these English performers from 1990.. They had a few self released cassette only recordings in the 80’s that I had a couple of. With a sound like a hipper Hawkwind they also blend elements of Progressive, Ambient,World Music, and New Age into the mix. At times the music reminds me of some of the more electronic Jam Bands like Sound Tribe Sector 9 and The Disco Biscuits that were around in the early 2000’s. With plenty of ethnic percussion and rhythms they add synthesizers, samples, and bass with electric guitar and flute sprinkled in. All instrumental, there are some voices on a couple of tracks. There are some nice jams on the 12 songs on this two record gatefold album but nothing too groundbreaking. Originally only released in the U.K. it was re-issued in the U.S. in 1998. I bought this one new in the early 90’s for $24.99 at the store in Ephrata shortly after moving to West Reading from Philly. I had their next three releases on CD but of course they were sold in 2013. I like the colorful cover. A couple members left to form Eat Static but later returned. Still active today with founder Ed Wynn the only original member left.
