Osibisa-Woyaya

Their second album also from 1971 also produced by Tony Visconti and with another album cover by Roger Dean with the flying elephants. You can’t call this one Progressive, its more Jazz Fusion,Funk and World Music. There is less guitar and more keyboards and horns. “Spirits Up Above” composed by Roland Kirk does have some guitar at the end and there are the usual percussion breaks throughout but I did not like this one as much as their first.”Beautiful Seven” starts off with sounds of a storm and some flute before going into a Jazz/Funk mode with some African vocals. Only a couple true instrumentals, most have some kind of vocals. The one I liked best was the title track, the last on the album which is pretty catchy with some English vocals. One I bought used at the store near Oaks, still with the $15 price tag on it and the date of 2 19 2020 which I bought just before everything was shut down for Covid. Again the cover and record are in very good shape.
