This album was released in 2014. Eight songs on two records. One I bought around that time and hadn’t listened to yet. Leader Mikael Akerfeldt is the only member left from the original line-up and is joined by long time members bassist Martin Mendez and drummer Martin Axenrot. They have a new guitarist and keyboard player for this record. Steven Wilson,of Porcupine Tree, added some background vocals. This record moves towards what I would call Heavy Progressive leaving behind any trace of the Death Metal growls from previous records.With their usual mix of acoustic and electric guitars,keyboards,excellent rhythm section and pleasing melodies and vocals this album sounds really good. The two longer songs “Moon Above Sun Below” and “River” were two that stood out. This record warrants more listening.
