Nine Days Wonder-Only The Dancers

Original

I remember looking at this record a couple of times before buying it in 1975. It was another import from Village records. They had a section of imports there imported by Jem records. This is a gatefold cover ,the record is a SQ Quadrophonic recording on the German Bacillus label. Glad I decided to buy it because it has been a favorite ever since. More of a straight Rock album than Krautrock or Progressive as some of their other records(none of which I have heard)are. The vocals by Walter Seyffer are in English sung in a German accent with guitar bass and drums backing him up. David Jackson from Van De Graff Generater plays sax and flute on half of the eight tracks. “Long Distance Line” has a middle section of spoken word by Lupo of the band Grobschnitt. The title track has a great chorus while “Frustration” sounds Punk, years before Punk was a thing.”Hovercraft Queen” is another good song sounding like something from Golden Earring. “It’s Not My Fault”is a ballad and the only song I don’t care for much. Side two strats with two great rockers “Time is Due” and “The Way I’m Living” with a great instrumental break with guitar sax and flute. The last song the 8 minute “Moment” is the most Progressive on the record. With some nice instrumental breaks with flute and organ it ends with some harmonized vocals that I always thought sounded like The Bee Gees. The cover,on high quality cardboard with a glossy finish is in good shape and the record sound really good after nearly 50 years.
