Nektar-A Tab In The Ocean

Nektar were an English band who moved to Germany and found their first success there. This is a great Progressive album sounding like many of the other German Progressive bands of that time. This is their second album released in 1972. The record I have is a 1976 re-issue on Passport Records I bought used abot 30 years ago. The title track takes up side one and has quiet parts and loud parts with guitar and organ. Side two is excellent comprised of two songs each divided into two parts. “Desolation Valley/Waves” has some awesome guitar by Roye Albrighton who also does the vocals. Keyboard player Allan Freeman’s organ also figures prominatley in the music. “Crying In The Dark/King Of Twilight” is equally as good with more great guitar. All of side two is on their live album Live In New York. A cool cover with the water pipe and the huge tab of LSD.
