Mott-Drive On

When Mick Ralphs left to join Bad Company and Ian Hunter went solo after The Hoople album Bassist Overend Watts, drummer Dale “Buffin” Griffin and new keyboard player Morgan Fisher who joined Mott The Hoople in 1974 along with a new singer and a new guitarist carried on changing their name to Mott. Not much like Mott The Hoople ,they played simple chord driven Rock almost all written by Watts. The record came out in 1975 and I had it on cassette. The way I got it was this. Sometime in 1976 I went to buy some pot from a guy who worked at the steakhouse with me who was living in his mothers house. After the transaction was made he gave me the tape as an excuse for me to be there saying give it back when you’re done with it as I left in front of his mother. My good friend and I listened to that tape many times back then. All songs are good ,even the two ballads are pretty good, favorites are “Monte Carlo”,”Stiff Upper Lip”, and “The Great White Wail”. I still had the tape in 2013 when all my cassettes were sold. I bought this used record sometime after that.
