Mott The Hoople-All The Young Dudes

As the story goes after four records that went nowhere the band was ready to break up when David Bowie gave them “All The Young Dudes” to record. The song was a big hit and Mott The Hoople enjoyed huge success for a few years. Every song here is a Rocker except for the last song “Sea Diver”. “Sucker” sounds a bit like T-Rex while “Jerkin’ Crokus” brings to mind The Rolling Stones ,with Bowie playing some sax. “Soft Ground” with vocals by organist Verden Allen has some heavy Uriah Heep style Organ. “One Of The Boys” is another good one and this record also has the original version of Mick Ralph’s “Ready For Love” whichn he later re-recorded with Bad Company. Their most consistant album and one I bought used probably 25 years ago.
