The Moody Blues-Seventh Sojourn

Original

This is their seventh album, not counting their first which was a compleatly different type of music, and another one of my earliest records I bought. I bought this on late ’72 when it was released. I never remember playing it that much. here were two singles from the record “Isn’t Life Strange” and “I’m Just A Singer(In A Rock And Roll Band)” both of which made the top 40 in the U.S. which led to the album reaching # 1 in sales at the end of 1972. Like their other records I like the more rocking songs like “Lost In A Lost World” and “You And Me” but not so much the quieter more ballad type songs. This record is very scratchy but has no skips. They broke up after this record but later re-formed in 1978. They have many good songs and I used to have the four CD box set Time Traveler but sold it in 2013. I need to buy a vinyl compilation covering both periods of the band’s music. I saw them in concert in 1987 with all original members except Mike Pinder who was replaced by ex Yes keyboard player Patrick Moraz. I remember they got a standing ovation that lasted a couple minutes after playing “Tuesday Afternoon”.
