This is a collection of songs put out by Rhino Records in 2017. The record is on pink vinyl with black splatter. Supposidly it’s a collection of their more psychedelic songs. All the songs date from 1966 to 1968 except for “Birth Of An Accidental Hipster” from their 2016 reunion album and written by Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller. Most of the other songs were written by some of the most successful songwriting teams of the 60’s: Goffin/King,Boyce/Hart and Mann/Weil. “Saturday’s Child” was written by David Gates of Bread fame. Mickey Dolenz,Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork each wrote a song on side two .Tork’s “For Pete’s Sake” was the closing theme of their TV show which I watched when it was on in the 60’s. There are only two of their hits on here “Pleasant Valley Sunday” and “She”. Other songs like “Words”,”Randy Scouse Git”,and “Take A Giant Step” I knew from their TV show which featured a song in every episode. “Porpise Song” is the theme from Their movie Head and sounds very contemporary. A pretty good collection.
