Mazzy Star-Seasons Of Your Day

After a 17 year hiatus they came back together and made this record. It’s like they never left. Although a little less trippy its still the same mainly acoustic psychedelic folk. David Roback and Hope Sandoval have the usual musicians backing them up with Bert Jansh playing guitar on “Spoon”. Roback plays some bottleneck slide on “Common Burn” and the seven and a half minute “Flying Low” which ends with a long jam of Roback’s fuzz guitar and Hope’s harmonica. “Lay Myself Down” almost sounds like a Pop song with Hope singing as fast and loud as I’ve heard her. Another good record of their dreamy music but probably the last you will hear from them. The record is on purple vinyl and does have a couple bad spots on it.
