This is about as far as I go into the Rap/Hip Hop realm. These Brits from Bristol also incorporate Soul,Funk,Electronica, and Reggae into their music. This is the first release (1991) from this band whose Hip Hop names are Daddy G,Mushroom,Tricky, and 3D. This record is critically acclaimed and has been on many top record lists. I had their Mezzanine and 1,000 Windows records on CD. This is a re-issue that came out in 2016. When they are not rapping vocals are by Jamaican Horace Andy,Shara Nelson, and Neneh Cherry. All the songs have a great rhythm with different tempos. There is also quite a bit of sampling. All songs by the band except “Be Thankful For What You Got” also covered by Yo Le Tengo on a CD I have of theirs. “Unfinished Sympathy” has some nice strings. Altogether a good record to listen to for a change of my usual listening habbits.
