Dave Mason-Dave Mason Is Alive

Another unauthorized release of music from his 1971 shows at The Troubadour. The original Blue Thumb release had a die cut split cover like E.L.P.’s Brain Salad Surgery record, the one I have is a basic cover on MCA from the late 70’s I bought used in the last ten years. Side one is the best with “Walk To The Point”,Shouldn’t Have Took More Than You Gave” and “Look At Me ,Look At You” with some extended soloing by Mason. Side two has two songs that were on the Headkeeper album,”Just A Song” and “Feelin’ Alright” his most well know song and much covered. Also on side two is “Sad and Deep As You” from his first record and “Only You Know And I Know” that Delaney & Bonnie had a hit with in the early 70’s. It’s an OK live album but his 1976 release Certified Live ,that I used to have on CD, is better.
