The Marshall Tucker Band-The Marshall Tucker Band

The Marshall Tucker Band are a Southern Rock band from South Carolina. Led By Tommy and Toy Caldwell on guitar and bass what sets this band from others like them is their use of flute and sax played by Jerry Eubanks. Singer Doug Gray has that smooth Southern voice with George McCorkle on rhythm guitar. This is their debut album from 1973. The first time I heard this was probably 1975 when one of the cooks at the steakhouse I was working at put it on in his apartment when we were partying there after work. He only had a few records, one of them was The Eagles Desperato which I somehow ended up with. This record starts of with two of their best known songs “Take The Highway” and “Can’t You See”,both Fm Rock radio staples. “Losing You” is a more Country sounding song with some steel guitar. Side two has the shit kicking “Hillbilly Band”,the Bluesy “Ramblin'”,and the Soulful/Gospel “My JesusTold Me So”. This is a used one I bought ,I don’t remember when but I’ve had it for a long time. The cover is not in very good shape, the record is OK.
