She is an artist who plays Funk,R&B,and Soul music. This 1984 albumfeatures her biggest hit “Lovergirl” another video I saw while living in Massachusetts. A good song I always liked,this is a used record I bought a few years ago for a couple of dollars. The more uptempo songs like “Jammin'”and “Out On a Lomb” are OK but some of the slower songs I didn’t care for. “My Dear Mr. Gaye” is a tribute to Marvin Gaye who was killed by his father earlier that year. A talented writer,producer and multi-instrumentalist, she has a great voice that I always liked. I had her album Ivory on cassette and I still have a CD of Emerald City,the album that came out after this one. She died in 2010 of what has been described as natural causes at age 54.
