Love-Revisited

Love were a 60’s Psychedelic Pop band based in L.A. Led by Arthur Lee and Bryan MacLean. This is a compilation of their singles from 1966 to 1970 when this album was released. I knew some of the songs from the radio “My Little Red Book”,the Bacharach/David song,”7 And 7 Is”,”She Comes In Colors”,and “Alone Again Or”. They are OK songs but I was never crazy abouit them. The gem on this record is the last song “You Set The Scene” at nearly 7 minutes. It’s another song I taped off the radio in the early 70’s and never knew who did it until sometime later when the DJ announced the name of the band before playing it. It’s a great song with different moods and lots of horns at the end. Another used one I bought at the record store near Oaks that isn’t there anymore. Of the original four members only Johnny Echols is still alive and still tours as The Love Band. Arthur Lee died in 2006 of leukemia.
