This is a good live album from 1978. Recorded at The Rainbow in London and the Lisner Auditorium in D.C. They were backed on this tour by The Tower of Power Horns. The record I have is a numbered, limited edition original half speed master that came out in 2011. The gatefold cover is heavy duty cardboard. I must admit it sounds really good. I believe it was close to $50 but I got it for store credit after selling some Jazz CDs to a local record store. This record has everything you would want to hear from the band. After “Willin'”they go into a little of “Don’t Bogart That Joint” from the Easy Rider soundtrack. They stretch it out a little on “Dixie Chicken” and “Tripe Face Boogie” with some piano solos by Bill Payne and guitar by Lowell George and Paul Barrere. Ex rolling stone Mick Taylor plays guitar on A Apolitical Blues. In 2002 av double CD was released with the 17 original album tracks plus 10 more from those two shows not on the original record. I still have that CD. In 1979 George had a heart attack and died, attributed to overeating, drinking, and cocaine. The band broke up after that but reformed in 1987 with the remaining members plus new singer Craig Fuller who had been in Pure Prairie League. They have become a bit of a Jam Band. I have seen them three times, once in Charleston, South Carolina when I was there on vacation and they happened to be playing at a venue near our hotel.
