Lighthouse-Lighthouse Live !

Lighthouse was Canada’s answer to Chicago, sounding similar with a three piece horn section. This ten piece band from Toronto had a minor Top 40 hit in 1971 “One Fine Morning” that I always liked back in the day. That song is on side four and features their horn section. That’s the only song I knew on this record besides their cover of “Eight Miles High” that has some long solos on guitar and flute. “1849” is about the California gold rush and has some nice harmonies, while “Sweet Lullaby” is a quiet song featuring violin and cello. “You And Me” written by woodwind player Howard Shore has more flute soloing. This was recorded live at Carnegie Hall on Feb. 6 1972 for a one hour radio concert. The band liked it so much they decided to release it on record. This is a used one I bought a few years ago.
