Deke Leonard is the on again off again singer and guitar player for the Welsh band Man. This is his second solo album from 1974. I bought it sometime in the mid 70’s while still at home. I had heard a couple of the songs on the radio “Jayhawk Special” and “In Search Of Sarah And Twenty Six Horses”. I had them on one of my cassette tapes I recorded off the radio. “Sharpened Claws” has a country feel to it with some nice fiddle at the end. Side one ends with a little acoustic number called “Stacia” with the words “She’s a nice girl” spoken at the end. Stacia was the name of the dancer for Hawkwind who Man played many festivals with in the early 70’s. Side two was the one I listened to most.”Broken Glass And Lime Juice”,”April The Third”,In Search Of Sarah…” and “The Devil’s Gloves” ,with most of Man playing on that one ,are all good songs. The record still sounds pretty good. One that wasn’t played a lot during the apartment years.
