The Legendary Pink Dots-All The King’s Men

This is their offering from 2002. The first vinyl album I bought from this band. As usual its filled with their Ambient,Techno,Krautrock,Industrial, compositions interspersed with Edward Ka-Spells psychedelic Folk/Pop songs. I have only listened to side one once as I have all my Dots albums. Looking forward to listening to them. Side one has two with Ka-Spell’s lisping vocals “The Warden” and “Touched By The Midnight Sun”,similar to very early David Bowie and “Rash” an Industrial sounding instrumental. “Sabers At Dawn” is a short Pop sounding song.”Marz Attacks” is another instrumental with some distorted electric guitars with some synthesizer sounds. The title track is a longer piece (11 plus minutes) that is Techno Sounding with a few vocals that pop out all of a sudden. “The Brightest Star” is another 13 minute instrumental with electronic sounds with some violin here and there. Another album I really enjoyed listening to. This is the kind of band you either love or hate. Best listened to with headphones(something I don’t like to do) or if you are stoned(something I do like to do). Ka-Spell and his longtime associate Phil Knight(The Silverman) are joined by Niels Van Hoorn,Martijn de Kleer, and Raymond Steeg who is lasted as sound wizard.
