Various Artists-Genuine House Rockin’ Music

This is a sampler from the Blues label Alligator Records. This came out in 1986 and I bought it a few years ago for a dollar. These songs are from the early period of their existence. I had about 25 or 30 Blues albums on cassette, many of them on the Alligator label. Mostly guitar based artists like Johnny Winter,Lonnie Mack,Lonnie Brooks, and Albert Collins. Roy Buchanan has a smoking instrumental “Short Fuse” that’s probably the best one on the record. Stevie Ray Vaughan has a solo on Lonnie Mack’s song “Satisfy Suzie”.Another good one is “You Don’t Know What Love Is” by Jimmy Johnson. James Cotton plays some harmonica on “Ain’t Doin’ Too Bad”.
