Their third album and another one I bought when it came out in 1977. Still with the line-up of Halford,Downing,Tipton, and Hill the drums were played by session drummer Simon Phillips. The first album for Colombia Records having broken their contract with Gull Record leaving them the rights to their first two records. Although similar to their last record this one I would say is not quite as good. “Sinner” starts off the record followed by a cover of “Diamonds And Rust” by Joan Baez. “Starbreaker” is next and is one of my favorite songs on the album. This album has two songs on the mellow side “Last Rose Of Summer” and “Here Come The Tears” again with piano by Glen Tipton. The’re not ad songs and show that Rob Halford can sing some lower notes as well as his falsetto screaming. They both have fade-outs that I like.”Let Us Prey/Call For The Priest” on side two is OK but the best song on that side is “Raw Deal” supposedly his coming out song although Halford didn’t announce his homosexuality until ten years later. “Dissident Aggressor” the last song has the typical Judas Priest sound. The cover and record are not in bad shape.
