This 1972 album peaked at number 1 on the U.S. charts the first of many to come. There are three great songs on this record,”Honky Cat”,”Rocket Man” and “Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters”.At this point Elton added Davey Johnstone on guitar to his band. Him and Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson would be with him through most of the 70’s. A friend of mine bought this album when it came out and we listened to it quite a bit. This is a used record I bought sometime in the 90’s. It’s an initial pressing on the UNI label with the tab and slot cover.
